Mother's day!

Hi everyone!
Sorry for the lack of update :|
My life have been very crazy with work.
Here's a Mother Day's card I did last year for Up With Paper and its finally available in store :)
You can find it in Barnes & Noble and Maido Stationery store.
I even saw the card in Macao and HK! ( i am so exciting!)
and yes! I am going to give this card to my mom next week :)

And here's a spot illustration I did for Family Fun Magazine. It's on the Feb issue :)

I havent updated here for a very long time.
Thanks for my dear friend Kike reminds me of it..haha, I have been very busy doing a lot of freelance lately. Most of my work are in NDA so I cant share all of them to you guys yet. Here's some of my doodles and freelance work I did the last few weeks :)

Some of the Promotion campaign artwork I did for a clinic.  I had a lot of fun doing those.

 ohh I am getting a corgi very soon! Yes! A corgi!


so i have been doing a lot of research on how to raise a healthy dog..so i did this chart for myself and thinking I should print it out and stick it on the fridge to make sure I didnt kill my dog with human foods.

I cant wait 2013 to come! I have a lot of ideas and plans in my head!!
First of all, I am moving out my tiny small studio and will move to a new apartment. By that mean, I will have more space to work!!! Excited! I am planning to do more traditional art in gouache rather than digital painting..and more papercut work :D

I was doodling in photoshop and ended up having the piece below. It wasnt my intention to do something "Mary Blair"...but it ended up looking so Mary-Blair-influence. As an artist,  I dont think it is a good thing....don't get me wrong, i love mary blair to death. But I want my own style to come up first. Its funny how it ends up look like this when i was thinking "retro color" while painting it... i still have a long way to go :P need to practice more!

Second Greater China Illustration Awards

I was greatly honored to be awarded  2 student awards from the Second Greater China Illustration Awards- an award covering Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau and Mainland China.  It means a lot to me because I never got any awards form my hometown/counrty - Macao & China

And the same piece got into the Society of Illustrators - 2012 Student Scholarship. 
I am so thankful for it. Thank you for all my friends and teachers!

and this papercut illustration was selected to the 3X3 Illustration Directory. It is in the Figurative section :D

 Two of my other work also got into Creative Quarterly vol 26, and one got into the CMYK Issue53. I am looking forwards to get the copies of them, and I will keep you guys posted.

All these student awards mean a lot to me as I am graduating very soon and no longer a student! It definitely gave me a great ending as a student!

oh yea...i am graduating in ......10 days!! 10 DAYS!!!!!!! omggg....anyone want to hire me? I am currently looking for job or internship..haha..wish me luck ;P

Anyways, I had fun doing it :) and i found that i love drawing cards and prop :D

Papercut

Actual size: 7" X 16.5" - Victoria & Dash

"Queen Victoria was no exception, during her long life she had many dogs but Dash was especially dear to her heart." 

 The same day in 1837 that she was crowned, she came home to give Dash a bath." I think it is a special and unusual moment for a queen so I picked this lines and created this :)

A custom dog portraits papercut illustration I did. I had a lot of fun doing it!


















I believe it is a ..chicken.. but it was supposed to be a turkey haha.

This is a white on white papercut illustration..I have a very hard time taking photo of it..

Playing with light......but again..this is not a very good photograph.. :P

























And this is a gift to cameron..hahaa..my fav. part is the bag of  poopoo :D

I am getting sick of my own color palette and want do something new for so long! So last 2 weeks i have been pushing myself to paint something not "neiko", not too cute or girly. And i guess i am doing not bad :P The first one is my favorite! And it will available on my Etsy soon!
